Fun & Fresh!
Happy New Year! Wishing you all a creative and productive 2019!
It seems I’ve started on the right foot so far – already two workshops down, a new print finished for an upcoming exhibition and some new teatowel prints in the window! AND it’s only been ten days!
One of these new teatowel prints is very simple and very basic but done to show peeps out there thinking of carving a lino block that it really doesn’t have to be too complicated.
When I’m using family and friends as guinea pigs ( you know I love you all!) it’s basically to work out if I’m allowing enough time etc.. for anyone and everyone to be able to complete all the class tasks in a workshop in the allocated time based on very little or no experience. It means less stress for participants and I can relax too knowing each and every one will get to do exactly what they’re hoping to and more.
I know from past experience when I’ve participated in workshops myself that it can be frustrating and disappointing to leave the class with unfinished pieces and still have questions which should have been answered. So as part of quality control and operations (so official!) it’s important to me to ensure expectations are met and achieved.
I’ll be offering teatowel workshops in the very near future as an alternative to printing on fabric as not everyone wants to cut their masterpieces up or sew some swish creation. Extra dates will be available for these.
In the meantime I’ll enjoy this summer weather and the colours it inspires – even on a simple sample teatowel!
